I’m aware that it is totally not cool to enjoy NBA All-Star Weekend. Matt Scheelar (Where has Sheed been, by the way? This “Matt” guy is an ASS.) showed as much with his informal Twitter survey. No Blazers playing? No big deal for me; having a Portland representative would just be the cherry on the already sweet and delicious icing.
What about All-Star Weekend has me awkwardly mixing up my idioms? Mostly it’s the novelty. We watch these guys play serious basketball all year long. Seeing them have some fun for a little while is a neat little change of pace. There’s a sense of humor to the weekend that I have always appreciated.
