They called him Big Red. Future Ace. California Kid.They told him he would make it in this business, it would just take time. Most thought his best friend and teammate, Kris Medlen, would make it before him, and even they were half-way right.

When drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 2005, it didn't take him long to make a name for himself in the Minors. By the time he was called up in June of 2009, it felt like he had had been here for years. Tommy Hanson has been a long time coming. He has been a cornerstone of the Braves Family Farm for years. And now, standing 11-4 with a 2.98 and 107 strikeouts in just 20 starts, Tommy Hanson is the major league pitcher we all knew he would be.
