According to George King of the NY Post, even though it is not yet official, the Yankees are expected to visit the White House on their off-day a week from today. They will be honored for winning last year’s World Series by Barack Obama. Here’s more from King: It hasn’t been made official but the Yankees will spend part of their day off a week from today at the White House, where they will be honored for winning the 2009 World Series by White Sox fan President Obama. It will be the third time since 2001 the Yankees will be honored at the White House. They were honored in 2001 by George W. Bush that year for winning the 2000 World Series.
