The Rangers couldn’t muster enough offense to put the Flyers away in regulation, and they couldn’t get enough to win the shootout their season came down to either. After three periods and an overtime, the Rangers and Flyers sat tied at 1-1, so they took things to a shootout. Henrik Lundqvist allowed a pair of goals from Daniel Briere and Claude Giroux, and that was enough to put the Rangers away, as P.A. Parenteau was the only Ranger to score. Marian Gaborik didn’t even take a shot. Notes Henrik Lundqvist stopped 46 of 47 shots he faced. The Rangers were out-shot each and every period, 47 to 25 overall.
