Jeff Carter and Mike Richards scored power play goals just 22 seconds apart, and Ray Emery turned away 28 shots in his Philadelphia debut, leading the Flyers to a 2-0 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday at the RBBC Center. Emery looked poised in his first regular season action since the 2007-'08 season when he was with Ottawa, but he didn't do it by himself. The Flyers played a sound game in front of him, forcing the majority of Carolina's opportunities to the outside. In his last three appearances against the Hurricanes, Emery has blanked them three consecutive times.
