According to Darren Dreger of TSN, Rangers president and general manager Glen Sather is not expected to step down, retire, or get fired after a disappointing season in which the Rangers had no offensive spark and could have been one of the worst teams in the NHL had it not been for a certain goalie. This is obviously bad news. Under Sather this team has become the definition of mediocrity. Sure, they make the playoffs, with the exception of this season, but only once or maybe twice have they had a realistic chance at going deep into the playoffs. In reality all making the playoffs has done for them is gotten them a worse draft pick. Sather has become known for making bad overpriced signings, but somehow has saved himself by dumping off some bad contracts, i.e. Scott Gomez and Ales Kotalik, ...
