The whole offseason drama of Heatley's trade demand is finally over. ESPN.com has reported that Heatley was traded in a three-team deal. Sending Heatley to San Jose, Patrick Marleau to Los Angeles, Jarret Stoll and Alex Frolov to Ottawa. NHL sources have confirmed this to ESPN's Buccigross, so it's legit. The summer long saga of whether he is staying or going is over. I'm sure in two years it'll start up again, as he'll no doubt be unhappy again. I actually feel sorry for Ottawa because the trade package to Edmonton was better because they were getting a young defenseman who has a lot of promise to be a above average in Ladislav Smid, a second-line player in Dustin Penner, and another center in Andrew Cogliano.
