According to the Chicago Blackhawks' official website, the team will be without forward Adam Burish for the next six months with a torn ACL. Burish hurt the knee in Sunday's preseason game in Minnesota. Burish, 26, has quickly become a popular player on the 'Hawks with fans because of his fun-loving approach and willingness to fight anyone. In 156 regular season games for the Blackhawks, Burish has 17 points, 309 penalty minutes, and one appearance on the "Jerry Springer Show" on his resume. He was also captain on the University of Wisconsin's national championship team a few years ago. The Blackhawks will begin the 2009-10 season without their biggest offseason addition, Marian Hossa, who is also injured. A shoulder injury will keep Hossa out until Thanksgiving.
