Tonight the Atlanta Thrashers played host to the San Jose Sharks in Phillips Arena. After a tough outing by Ondrej Pavelec last game against the Capitals, coach John Anderson had Johan Hedberg starting.

It wasnÆt good early as the top line scored within the first minute of the game. A weird bounce and a quick dump of the puck in front of the net from Ryan Vesce (whoÆs filled in well on the top line) gave a loose gift to Joe Thornton, who finished into the net.

Not even ten minutes into the game, a sore captain Ilya Kovalchuk limps off the ice, after an apparent twisted knee the superstar took him out of the rest of the game. ItÆs a tough loss for the Thrashers, as Kovalchuk already leads the league in goals with nine.
