Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals started the 2009-2010 season with a 4-1 victory over the Boston Bruins. Ovechkin proved in the first game why he is the best in the leagueùscoring two goals and having one assist. Ovechkinùthe No. 1 pick from the 2004 draftùhas dominated the league since the 2005-2006 season. Ovechkin comes into the year with 219 goals and 201 assists in his short four year career. The 24-year-old is simply the best player in the NHL. Washington is hoping Ovechkin can lead them to the Eastern Conference Finals and beyond this year.
