The 2009-2010 season for the Detroit Red Wings will be a unique situation as they do not have the target on their backs for once.á With Pittsburgh winning the Cup last season, the attention will be focused on them.á However there is no team in the NHL that is discounting the Wings.á The biggest concerns are on a few fronts.á The recent news that Johan Franzen will be out of action with a torn ACL for four months leaves the Wings lacking in both blocking the opposing goalie's vision and in FranzenÆs scoring touch.á But with Bertuzzi being on the team, he will assume that role on Henrik Zetterberg's line.á Also, Justin Abdelkader has been called up to take Franzen's spot on the team.á Abdelkader provides a physical presence in the style of Kirk Maltby and Danny Cleary.á The other c ...
