The San Francisco 49ers, with a record of 2-1, looked to be the team to beat in the NFC West after the first three weeks of the season. Those two wins were thanks in large part to big games by the 49ers' former All-Pro running back, Frank Gore. After his first carry of Week Three, Gore was injured and San Francisco went on to lose its first game of the season. The Niners may have to get used to his absence for a little while longer. According to reports, Gore will miss up to three weeks with a right angle sprain.
