New England Patriots: Top Fantasy Players

The New England Patriots are on of the few teams in the NFL that have multiple, top fantasy players on their roster.

First, let’s start with the obvious: QB Tom Brady.

Tom Brady is one of the top quarterbacks in the NFL and should be snagged in the first round of most drafts. Brady, along with Drew Brees and Peyton Manning, is prone to put up major passing numbers year in and year out.

I’d take Brady over any quarterback in the NFL, but that’s just me. He plays on a very pass-heavy team and they rely on him a lot to win the game. After Brady had season-ending knee surgery in 2008-09, Brady came back with resurgence. He played his second best season of his career with 28 touchdowns while racking up 4398 passing yards.

Tom Brady is a popular choice at the quarterback position in fantasy football.

The second player that comes to mind on the Patriots roster is: WR Randy Moss.

Randy Moss is still one of the most feared, deep-threat receivers in the NFL. Moss usually has a big play in every game he plays, so I’d say he’s a reliable receiver.

Moss is in a contract year, so expect even bigger numbers from “the freak.” He caught 13 touchdowns last year with 1264 receiving yards.

Moss, teaming up with Brady, make one dynamic fantasy combo. If you were to land both of these players on your team, you’d already be a playoff contender.

Another very popular choice in New England is: WR Wes Welker.

Welker stock has fallen since last year as he has been recovering from major knee surgery. But, it appears that he is ahead of schedule and progressing rapidly. Welker is a possession receiver that gets the ball a lot and turns small plays into big plays.

Last year, Welker was a top receiver in most leagues. He caught for 1348 yards while scoring four touchdowns.

In my opinion, I wouldn’t take Welker until the third round. Last year, I snagged him in the second, but due to his injury, I’d be careful.

This player is at the top of his position for fantasy leagues: K Stephen Gostkowski.

Gostkowski is a very solid kicker, but what makes him a wanted player is that he plays for the New England Patriots. Any kicker that plays for a high-powered offense should be wanted. They will get PAT after PAT while racking up fantasy points for your team.

Stephen Gostkowski is a solid kicker in any league.

Here’s a list of my few New England Patriots’ Sleep Picks:

WR Torry Holt

TE Aaron Hernandez

TE Alge Crumpler

WR Julian Edelman
