In my mind there is no doubt that the Chargers must draft Javier Arenas with their first-round pick. It's almost a no brainer for the following reasons:
1. He's ready to start now. After playing for Alabama, the SEC and national champion, he is used to good competition, and the transition would be a lot easier than for a guy coming from a smaller school. For example, Northern Illinois' Larry English, last year's first-round pick.
2. The Chargers have to draft a cornerback ASAP to replace AntonioáCromartie. Arenas will be available when they pick.
