Washington Redskins GM Bruce Allen said at his news conference this afternoon that he was looking for a head coach "who could lead men."
I like it. Head coaching involves game planning and play calling and all that, but coaching is more about executive leadership.áSetting direction, motivating the team toácommit to it and holding players accountableáare the bigger parts of the role.
Allen said the Redskins were looking for a coach whoáwould embraceáof Redskin history. Presumably, the next coacháwill knows the words to Hail To The Redskins and willánotámention "maroon and black" in reference to Washington.ááá
Allen said the head coacháwould be in charge of the football team. He did not mention any names.
