Now that Cleveland Browns owner Randy Lerner has made a statement to his management staff by firing General Manager George Kokinis, has reported that Lerner is actively talking to retired and former New York Giants GM Ernie Accorsi. UPDATED 11-3-09 10:10 AM: reports that Accorsi denies any involvement in becoming the Browns GM. Accorsi retired in 2007, is a former Browns GM back in 1985-1992 during their multiple playoff runs to the AFC Championship in the 1980s during the Bernie Kosar era. Most recently, Accorsi was the GM of the Giants from 1998-2006, and he is the reason that the Giants have their current quarterback Eli Manning because Accorsi was the man who conducted the trade that landed them their franchise quarterback.
