Predicting an NFL season is something that would trouble even Nostradamus.
There is much more that goes into an NFL team than the average fan recognizes. Nobody but the players can account for locker room disputes, mutinies against coaches, or concealed injuries.
Nevertheless, every fan does it.
Once NFL schedules are released, fans go through every matchup, circling the games they believe their teams will win, and normally placing a question mark rather than an "X" over the games their team might lose.
This usually results in an unrealistic record of 13-3 (or if you're a Lions fan, 3-13), and further fuels fans' excitement for the upcoming season.
