As a citizen of Toronto, Canada, I am thrilled that the New York Yankees have won the World Series. People around me have asked, "Shouldn't you be booing the New York Yankees because they knock out the Toronto Blue Jays from the playoffs every year?" To those people I have responded, "It was necessary that the Yanks won their 27th World Series in order to save the league." The Yankees' win means there will be no need for them to go out and buy the best players in the world in order to further strengthen their team.
