When diehard baseball fans talk about the greatest hitters of all time, youÆll always hear the names Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Lou Gehrig, Willie Mays, Joe Dimaggio, and maybe even an Albert Pujols being discussedùhopefully, NOT A-rod or Bonds. One of the greatest hitters of all time and least talked about in that class is the hall of famer, Stan ôTHE MANö Musial. Musial, like Ruth, also started out as a pitcher and compiled a nice w/l record in the minors until Stan injured his shoulder and his potential as a future pitcher was extinguished.
