At number 22 on this list comes the big right-hander Jesse Beal. Beal was tabbed by the Orioles as the 416th pick in the 2008 draft, and shocked many by deciding to go pro, rather than attending the University of Maryland, where the coaches there thought they had a strong commitment. Nevertheless, Beal signed with the Orioles, and he immediately became a prospect to watch, one with a tremendous ceiling. The O's gave Beal a sample of pro ball when he made his debut with the Orioles' Gulf Coast League squad.
