Seeing Ichiro's two-run homer last night off Mariano Rivera to redeem himself after getting picked off twice by A.J. Burnett was maybe not the greatest moment in Mariners history, but it exemplified a season that, for the Seattle fan, has been probably the most exciting since '03, maybe even '01. I was at the game, and thought I'd pass on some notes for posterity: To me, the Yankee fans didn't become very evident until the 9th. Maybe that's just because I went down to the bullpen to see Rivera warm up, then you could hear the cheering and see them in their jerseys standing for what they assumed would be the final out. My guess is that some of the Yankee fans flew to Seattle for all three weekend games because it's that much cheaper to watch the Yankees at Safeco than at the new Stadium. Wh ...
