After a memorable opening day where Jason Heyward blasted a home run in his first at bat, and President Barack Obama threw out the first pitch at National Park in Washington D.C, the Florida Marlins left a sour taste in their fan's mouth in route to a 7-1 loss over the division rival, New York Mets.
The Florida Marlins came into opening day as the team under everyone's radar, but were still a threat to any team in the league. However, Mets ace Johan Santana was able to shut down the fish yet again allowing only five hits and one earned run.
