Here’s a look at some unheralded players who played well yesterday.   Nick Swisher, New York Yankees Swisher went 3-for-4 with two runs to raise his average to .258.   Clay Buchholz, Boston Red Sox Buchholz went eight innings, allowing one run, to improve to 2-2 with a 2.19 ERA.   Shaun Marcum, Toronto Blue Jays Marcum got a no-decision despite allowing one run on four hits with five Ks over seven innings. He’s 0-1 with a 3.44 ERA.   David Eckstein, San Diego Padres Eckstein went 3-for-5 with a run to raise his average to .279.   Jon Garland, San Diego Padres Garland went six innings for the win.
