According to MLB.comÆs Brian McTaggart, Mills was named the new manager on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 27, and his hiring became official at a news conference held at 3 p.m. CT at Minute Maid Park. ôThere is no doubt in my mind weÆve made an outstanding selection,ö general manager Ed Wade told Houston ChronicleÆs Jose De Jesus Ortiz. ôWeÆre working toward being a champion.
