The Braves entire spring has seemingly been devoted to the new right fielder in town, Jason Heyward. Heyward has had a phenomenal spring, landing the starting gig in Atlanta outfield.
Tommy Hanson was getting similar love in 2009's spring training and he did not disappoint. Now, we are looking at a full season from Hanson with 21 starts worth of major league experience already under his belt.
It is understandable to be excited for the unknown in Heyward; the expectations for him are so high that even casual baseball fans are eagerly awaiting his debut. However, how could someone not be just as excited about Tommy Hanson pitching a full year in Atlanta—one of the best pitchers to ever come through Atlanta's system.
