Whoa, look what happened to the American League West when nobody was paying attention. As usual, eyes were focused on the ongoing turf battle in the beastly AL East and for good reason—the two best squads and possibly the three finest call it home. Then, there was the commotion caused by Roy Halladay landing in the National League and on its best team, as well as the Joe Mauer extension. Throw in the Matt Holliday and Jason Bay sweepstakes, and only the Seattle Mariners big off-season managed to surface in the right direction as far as movers-and-shakers go on Major League Baseball's radar.
