á It's so hard to stay positive after watching the Ducks take one point out of a possible eight on their recent road trip. Watching them suffer through 60 minutes against Pittsburgh Monday night was like watching a train wreck. For the hundredth time. The Ducks now have a few days off before they return to the Honda Center for a seven game home-stand. áBetween now and then, fans will likely keep their eyes ...

Anaheim We Have Problem…

Posted: 12th November 2009 by SK in NHL
Anaheim, we have a serious problem. No, for a change I'm not going to gripe about your inability to play 60 minutes. áLately, you've shown me energy. á I have no complaints about who's "stepping up" and who's not doing their job (okay, that's not necessarily true, but that's not what this is about right now). I'm not going to criticize your poor defense. Somehow, it has been working.á There is nothing to be ...
A few days ago, hockey fans were approachedáto helpáJohn Meyer pick his favorite NHL team. Since he's doing this in alphabetical order, you know what this means...Ducks fansùwe're up first! We officially tackle the question, "Why be an Anaheim Ducks fan?" áI'm sure John is looking for something more concrete than, "Why not?!" and I'm going to do my best to put it in perspective. I've always considered Ducks fans to ...
Whew! As if the Ducks haven't given their fans enough stress lately, Saturday night they decided to stop playing in the third period long enough to allow the Phoenix Coyotes to make it a close game. I'm not particularly partial to laziness.  I am, however, on board with winning.  If this is the give and take type of thing the Ducks are looking to establish, lets hope they're going to give up ...

Jonas Hiller and the Ducks Shutout Predators

What the heck was that? Oh, sorry, I've gotten so used to starting all of my posts like that. It's like my fingers just took over.á Let's try that again... WAHOO! If it looks like a win, walks like a win, quacks like a win ... we'll take it! The Ducks needed a victory on Thursday night against the visiting Nashville Predators more than anything. We've been seeing them improve steadily over the past ...

Anaheim Gets Moral Victory, Pittsburgh Gets Win

It's such a confusing time as a Ducks fan right now. Should we be happy that the Ducks are making progress in their game? Or should we be upset that it's takingáso many gamesáto get it figured out? Is there something to take from the fact that the Ducks are finding ways to kill penalties? Or should we be upset that the Ducks are still taking so many trips to the sin ...
James Wisniewski is going to be suspended for the upcoming two games. The NHL has handed down the suspension due to the hit Wisniewski laid on Shane Doan during the Ducks/Coyotes matchup on Saturday night. Doan was noticeably wobbly after the hit and returned to the bench on his own. No penalty was called, and Doan returned to the game, where he later fought Wisniewski. I tend to stay un-opinionated about hits and ...

Tired Ducks Fall to Coyotes in Shootout Loss

Posted: 1st November 2009 by SK in NHL
I hope you're sitting for this one... I'm NOT disappointed in the Ducks loss Saturday night. Yes, we're talking about a Ducks team desperately seeking victories, but we're also talking about a Ducks team in need of some confidence and consistent hockey on a regular basis. For a group playing their second game of a back-to-back, the Ducks played solid for a majority of the game. Signs of fatigue were showing in the ...
This isn't about losing to the worst team in the league. áThis is about becoming the worst team in the league. Monday night fans watched two teams desperate for wins and one team, completely falling apart. Ducks fans everywhere are scratching their heads wondering what the problem is. Personally, I'm at a loss for words...and I think my head is bleeding. Reflections about the recent home stand and what is wrong with this team ...
The Ducks, fresh off a defeat Saturday night to the Columbus Blue Jackets, are now facing another loss. Theáre-assignment of LucaáSbisa will mean the 19-year-oldádefensemanáwill not be finishing the season in the NHL. Why did the Ducks re-assign Sbisa? For Randy Carlyle, the answer is simply that the team is facing too much pressure for such a young, developing player to be exposed to. áWhile the Ducks are an abysmal 3-5-1 in ...
