Atlanta Braves-New York Mets: Santana’s Start Not Enough, Mets Split Series
Posted: 18th May 2010 by Dave Doyle in MLB
The Mets got a great start from Johan Santana , as usual, going 7 IP and giving up 2 ER on a homer by Troy Glaus in the third inning. Santana seemed to get stronger as the game went on. Pedro Feliciano took over in the eighth and started the ninth out by giving up a hit to McCann that would eventually be the winning run.
The Mets had ...
Losing Out on Wall and Turner May Be A Blessing in Disguise for the Nets

(This article was originally posted on my personal blog, MetsJetsNetsBlog , and can be found here)
The Nets went into the NBA Draft Lottery with the best chance of any team to get the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, and presumably the right to draft Kentucky guard John Wall.
But with a 25 percent chance of getting the first pick, clearly it was far from a guarantee.
The Nets ...

Philadelphia 76ers Win No. 2 Pick: Five Reasons to Draft Evan Turner
Posted: 18th May 2010 by Bryan Toporek in NBA
Despite only having a 6 percent chance at landing the No. 2 pick, the Sixers pulled out a miracle and completely defied the odds on Tuesday night.
A few weeks back, I profiled five players the Sixers should draft at No. 6. I'm happy to report that list is now completely meaningless.
Now, much like the formerly-Seattle Supersonics three years ago, the Sixers find themselves literally in the easiest ...
Ineffectiveness Undoing Montreal Canadiens Cinderella Run
Posted: 18th May 2010 by Matt Eichel in NHL
There may be arguments citing the Montreal Canadiens troubles against the big bad Philadelphia Flyers, saying that the Canadiens are too small for the larger Flyers.
The truth of the matter is that it's the ineffectiveness of Montreal's offensive style and their head coach's stubbornness that has the Cinderella Canadiens down 2-0 in the best-of-7 Eastern Conference Finals.
Having been outscored by a red hot Flyers offense 9-0 in two games, the ...
Ever since David Stern masterminded his ingenious plan to pump NBA marketing dollars into individuals, the modern game has thrived. It has brought back the casual fans, who are big on name recognition. It began with the ascension of Michael Jordan and, let us hope, ends with the dethroning of the self-anointed NBA King, Lebron James.
For two years running LBJ has used the regular season as his personal "And 1" ...
The Washington Wizards have won the John Wall sweepstakes, or at least the right to draft the Kentucky Wildcats star with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft after winning the NBA Draft Lottery.
The Wizards, who only had a 10.3 percent chance of earning the overall pick, topped the Philadelphia 76ers (2nd overall) and New Jersey Nets (3rd overall). The Nets entered the lottery with the best ...
Hanley Ramirez Benching Should Be a Lesson for All of Baseball
Posted: 18th May 2010 by Matt Sherman in MLB
By now, most baseball fans have seen the highlights of Hanley Ramirez lollygagging after a ball he literally booted down the left field line in Monday night's game between the Florida Marlins and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
After Ramirez's snail-like retrieval of the baseball, during which he probably could have enjoyed a three-course meal, he was promptly benched by his manager, Fredi Gonzalez.
While last night's spectacle was as egregious as they come, ...
2010 NBA Mock Draft: NBA Draft Order Still Built on John Wall
Posted: 18th May 2010 by Joel Barker in NBA
It's definitely that time again. Time to guess, predict, and forecast which NBA teams will be home to college basketball's elite of the elite.
With tonight's NBA Draft Lottery the picture becomes a lot clearer as to who will go where and at which pick.
It's still just a guessing game, and no one will no anything for sure until later in the summer. But for now, it's worth a ...
2010 NBA Lottery: How One Event Shook Up the First Round of the Draft
Posted: 18th May 2010 by DeAnte Mitchell in NBA
Before the NBA Lottery actually happened, many people envisioned Wall and Turner being selected with the first two picks in the NBA Draft.
However, watching the lottery unfold, the world got a glimpse of the draft order and BOOM, here come the speculations.
All year, John Wall has been the consensus No. 1 overall selection in the draft. Not even Evan Turner, the player of the year, could steal such a feat from ...
