With the end of the year quickly approaching, NHL.com has been counting down the best of the decade. Today, they gave the top five teams of the decade . Two of the five teams were Red Wings. The Wings also owned the top spot with the 2001-02 team that won the Stanley Cup. I don't really think that's much of a surprise. However, the Wings also owned the third spot with the 2007-08 team that beat Pittsburgh for the Stanley Cup. Other teams on the list were the 2000-01 Colorado Avalanche, the 2003-04 Tampa Bay Lightning, and the 2005-06 Carolina Hurricanes. Another Red Wings team was also given honorable mention.
