On my debut, I managed to squeak out a win. Here are my picks for the day and why: á Islanders (0-0-2) vs. Bruins (1-2-0) The champions for the East are having a slow start, but that doesn't mean that this trend will go on forever. The Bruins have too much depth in the all their lines, and Tim Thomas, despite his age, is bound to find his game. The Islanders, despite having 2009's No. 1 overall draft pick in John Tavares, couldn't muster up a win against Ottawa, which leads me to believe the same result will happen here. Boston takes this one. á Pittsburgh (3-1-6) vs. Toronto (0-2-1) Pittsburgh is starting to wake up despite a humiliating loss to the unowned Coyotes.
