In Week Three against the New York Giants, Byron Leftwich played like JaMarcus Russell of the Oakland Raiders (7-16 for 22 yards, no TDs and one interception). That is not a good thing, in case you don't pay attention to the performance of the Raiders. Leftwich was finally pulled and benched and in came second-year QB Josh Johnson. During Johnson's first few plays, the announcers said that Johnson has a quick release whereas Leftwich has a big windup. Johnson finished with 36 yards going 4-10. Soon after declaring that the Buccaneers were sticking with Byron Leftwich as the starter, Head Coach Raheem Morris announced that Josh Johnson would be the starting quarterback for the Week Four Washington Redskins game.
