Philadelphia Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. is a smart man. He graduated from Stanford with a B.S. in Human Biology and from all accounts has been a fundamental aspect of the Phillies' success in recent years.  Amaro is also a baseball man.  He played in the major leagues for the Philadelphia Phillies, Cleveland Indians, and Toronto Blue Jays.
