Clayton Kershaw definitely atoned for his shaky first outing with a much better time the second trip to the mound. Kershaw allowed just two runs over 5.1 innings and struck out seven as he collected his first win of the season.
I am not happy with the fact that he walked five batters and his WHIP on the season is at an atrocious 1.90 but he is guaranteed to improve.

It was a cool, partly cloudy afternoon in the Bronx on Tuesday: the perfect weather for Opening Day at the new Yankee Stadium.World Series rings were given out, a prank was played on Hideki Matsui (known by his New York faithful as "Gozilla"), and good ol' Jerry Hairston Jr. even stopped by.The General of the Yankees rotation, Andy Pettitte, took the mound, and from the first pitch on, the game ...

Hot to start the season, look for Giants success to continue

Pablo Sandoval leads the 6-1 San Francisco Giants, a team that should challenge for the NL West crown.
Three teams could win the National League West. The Los Angeles Dodgers have pitching, both young and old, and though they may not have a very desirable staff, even if they are lackluster in stretches, Manny Ramirez and their other offensive powers are more than able of picking up the slack.
The Colorado ...
Andy Pettitte, Yankees Beat Angels 7-5 in Memorable Home Opener
Posted: 13th April 2010 by Doug Rush in MLB
Tuesday afternoon's game between the Yankees and Angels was certainly more meaningful than just a regular opening game at Yankee Stadium.
Last year in 2009, they opened the brand new ballpark, replacing the one that stood for 85 years.
This year in 2010, the Yankees celebrated it by receiving their 2009 World Series Championship rings in a pre-game ceremony.
On hand were former Yankees Whitey Ford and Yogi Berra, who helped pass out ...
Fantasy Baseball: Are You Sure Albert PujoIs Is The Guy?

Joe Mauer: The most important fantasy player in the universe
Most fantasy baseball players who have the luck of picking first in their draft will probably turn to the likes of Albert Pujols, Hanley Ramirez or Alex Rodriguez. Each of these players are elite, if not the best, fantasy players at their positions (1B, SS, and 3B).
There is no doubt Albert Pujols is the best hitter in baseball and can lead ...
Hideki Matsui: New York Yankees Fans Show Godzilla Some Love
Posted: 13th April 2010 by Jesse Dorsey in MLB
The Yankees had a special guest on hand for their ring ceremony Tuesday afternoon. It wasn't Yogi Berra, it wasn't Whitey Ford, and it wasn't George Steinbrenner—although they were all there.
Hideki Matsui was the true guest of honor in the house that the Core Four built.
Although Matsui wasn't with the likes of Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera, or Andy Pettitte back when the group won their first four rings ...
Dominic Brown: The Philadelphia Phillies’ Next Superstar?

Anyone who’s followed baseball this spring knows the national sports media has been abuzz with talk about a “once in a lifetime” talent…
Who is he? Well, he’s a lefty-hitting, potential five-tool right fielder who happens to play for a club in the National League East.
Give up?
OK, of course we’re talking about the Atlanta Braves’ Jason Heyward. He’s a phenomenal talent, and at age 20, appears to truly be in a ...
Second Thoughts for Fantasy Owners: Toronto Blue Jays Place Aaron Hill on DL
Posted: 13th April 2010 by Adam Bernacchio in MLB
Monday was a rough day for second basemen. Especially second basemen in the American League East.
First it was the Baltimore Orioles’ Brian Roberts who went down for the count, and then it was the Toronto Blue Jays’ Aaron Hill.
The Blue Jays placed Hill on the 15-day DL because of tightness in his right hamstring. The move is retroactive to April 6th, so Hill could be back as soon as next ...
To pick four players from the history of baseball is what impossible looks like.
To even start, you would have to define the list. In baseball, the difference between position players and pitchers is enormous.
When Curt Schilling started Game 6 of the 2004 ALCS and beat the Yankees, was their a better baseball player than him on that day?
Probably not but that does not mean I am going to carve his ...
