Boston Massacre: Tampa Bay Rays Sweep The Boston Red Sox
Posted: 19th April 2010 by JC De La Torre in MLB
Like a Nor'easter, they blew in wrecking everything in sight and leaving nothing but rubble in their wake.
Their bats thundered, while their pitchers blew the rawhide by their Boston adversaries as if they were tornadoes twisting the night away.
It was just four games in April, games that perhaps at the end of a 162 game season may not mean a whole lot.
Still, that whooshing sound you heard from ...
What To Expect From Ike Davis: First Week of the Season
Posted: 19th April 2010 by Flushing Baseball Daily in MLB
Ike Davis, the name alone brings shivers down Met Fans spines. Today he will be making his first start of the season and hit sixth behind the hot Jeff Francoeur.
Expect Ike Davis, 23, to start off the year a little slow, it is a huge adjustment from minor league pitching in Buffalo, but once he gets in the groove of things, the guy is just a natural specimen.
Ike will start ...
The Red Sox were booed as they left the field today. They've suffered five straight losses, including a sweep by the Rays, and now they're six games out of first. The Sox are now 4-9 this season. You have to go back to 1996 to find a Red Sox team that got off to worse start after 13 games than the current edition. Of specific concern, the Sox ...

What I’m Reading
• Id’ like to give the Brewers some words of advice, but the sign says it all: “Sign Prince and they will come” .
• The Rangers have this really awesome first base prospect named Justin Smoak. The Rangers also have this really awful current first baseman named Chris Davis. Let’s do some simple math here.
• Because someone in the world has to talk about the Astros, I’m here ...
The New York Mets finally called up first base prospect Ike Davis to the major league team today. Manager Jerry Manuel has already penciled him into the sixth slot of the starting lineup.
While the season may only be a little over two weeks old, some believe that this move was already overdue.
Davis batted .480 with three home runs and 10 runs batted in in 25 at bats during ...
Today we check in with the Rays' minor league affiliates and see what they’ve done to this point in the season. After only 10 games, we've seen one player called up from Durham (catcher John Jaso) and there already seems to be at least one other player that could play his way onto the big league team. We'll take a look at each affiliate and focus on the highlights and ...
We Like Ike: New York Mets Welcome Ike Davis to “The Show”
Posted: 19th April 2010 by Nick Carlo in MLB
The New York Mets selected Ike Davis with the 18th overall pick in the 2008 MLB Draft. Davis was a first baseman for Arizona State. Scouts loved Davis' raw power and so did the Mets.
Big things were expected from this kid. Despite Davis' high expectations he struggled mightily in his first year for the Mets. He played with the Brooklyn Cyclones and couldn't manage to hit one home run.
Ike, ...

Reaching For The Panic Button: Weekend Sweep an Ugly Mess for Boston Red Sox
Posted: 19th April 2010 by Keith Testa in MLB
Boston has long since had a reputation for jumping the gun when it comes to burying its sports teams. Historically speaking, patience in the Hub has been anything but a virtue.
So when the media vultures starting circling David Ortiz after exactly two games this spring, I was quick to defend the veteran slugger, asking for everyone to hold their horses before rioting in the streets.
But now? Hit the panic button. ...
