In July 2009, when Harrah's of Reno employee Andrea McNulty filed a civil lawsuit accusing Ben Roethlisberger of sexual assault, the denying outcry from Steeler Nation was almost deafening.

In the weeks since the New York Yankees won their 27th World Series championship, the haters have been out in full force with the usual and increasingly tiresome cries of "They bought another championship!"á
