Daunte Culpepper Still a Lion After All

Posted: 18th May 2010 by Ryan Steck in NFL
It looks like Daunte Culpepper will be a Lion again after all, just not a Detroit Lion. Reports are swirling that the 33-year-old quarterback is close to signing a deal with the UFL's Sacramento Mountain Lions. Detroit brought Culpepper out of semi-retirement two years ago, in the middle of the 2008 season. He started a total of 10 games during his time with the Lions. Culpepper was the early favorite to be ...
Detroit Lions fans have gotten very used to seeing new head coaches come and go over the years. In fact, over the last decade the Lions have had six different coaches lead the Honolulu Blue, five of whom were hired by former general manager Matt Millen. After enduring many painful seasons, including 2008's infamous 0-16 campaign, Lions fans have been through more than any other ...

Meet Darrelle Revis, cornerback for the New York Jets. Last year Revis went up against some of the league's best receivers, and shut down ever single one of them. They say every player has a bad day, but that rule never applies to Revis. After manning up against the league's best and handling them all, New York gave their star a nickname, 'Revis Island." Perfection is what he strives for, and this year ...

Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is use to having doubters. He has been criticized throughout his entire collegiate career, regardless of how prolific it was. After four seasons at Florida, here’s what his resume looks like stepping into the NFL. Tebow's a two-time National Champion.  He's a two-time First Team All-American, and a three-time First Team All-SEC. He's won Heisman Trophy, AP Player of the Year, the Davey O’Brien Award, the Harley Award, the ...
According to multiple media sources, the Detroit Lions are actively talking to Miami about a trade for running back Ronnie Brown. I can confirm that news tonight. I just talked to a good source of mine, and according to them Detroit is talking very seriously about trying to put together a deal that would land them the Dolphins starting running back. I was told Detroit was looking into Bills ...
"With the first pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select Matthew Stafford, quarterback, Georgia." As quickly as NFL commissioner Rodger Goodell spoke those words, Stafford was the face of the Lions franchise. Face of a franchise that had completed a record setting 0-16 season just that past year. Face of a franchise that had a brand new head coach and first year general manager. That's a lot ...

NFL Draft: Leading Candidates To Be Picked by the Detroit Lions

Posted: 15th April 2010 by Ryan Steck in NFL
With all the speculation regarding who the Lions will select with the second-overall pick in this year's NFL Draft, it has seemingly been narrowed down to four potential candidates. Of course that is all subject to the fact that Detroit doesn't trade their pick and move further down into the draft, which would shake everything up. For now however, lets review the front-runners to join the Lions with that coveted ...
With their secondary still the main concern on defense, the Lions continue to address the situation by bringing in veteran cornerback Lito Sheppard for a visit. According to multiple media sources, including the Detroit News , Sheppard will be meeting with Lions brass in Allen Park today. Sheppard, 29, started nine regular season games and two playoff games last season for the New York Jets. Before going to New York in ...
