Keys To the Wolf Den: John Wall a Problem or Problem Solver?

Posted: 22nd December 2009 by Matthew Hayden in NBA
Ricky Rubio, Jonny Flynn, and Ramon Sessions. All great point guards in their own respect, and all are currently involved with the Timberwolves. Watching Jonny Flynn go through swings of progression and regression makes me question, "Do the Wolves take John Wall if they get the No.1 pick?" Jonny Flynn takes two steps forward and one step back, and it seems like there are either only bright spots, or none at all. Ramon Sessions ...

Keys to the Wolf Den: Corey Brewer’s New Approach

Posted: 20th December 2009 by Matthew Hayden in NBA
Let's take a moment to think about the new Corey Brewer poster. (count to 60) Now onto the information. Corey Brewer's dunk over Derek Fisher signified something more than just his knees on Derek Fisher's forehead, it signaled a complete new approach to Corey Brewer's inner dominance. Of course, Corey Brewer is at his best when he's out in transition, but many times his lay-ups fall out of the rim, and his shot ...

Keys To The Wolf Den: Kevin Love, All-Star Weekend and Rebounds

Posted: 19th December 2009 by Matthew Hayden in NBA
Out of rhythm? Out of shape? Still not 100 percent healthy? In the mind of a Wolves fan, those words said by Kevin Love are a basketball player's dream for a guy that's averaging 14.4 PPG and 12.4 RPG. What in the world is Kevin Love thinking? Is it possible that Kevin Love has more to offer the Wolves, or is it just me? Please consider that Kevin Love had 14 rebounds ...

Keys to the Wolf Den: Is the All-Star Back?

Posted: 15th December 2009 by Matthew Hayden in NBA
Ok, maybe not truly an All-Star because he's not wearing the Western Conference jersey, but the Wolves All-Star in general. 23 PPG and 11 RPG last season? That was just the norm, and was immediately expected night in and night out. As Al Jefferson went down with a torn ACL injury, so did the Minnesota Timberwolves 2008-2009 NBA season, one which was starting to shed light while the Wolves went 10-3 in ...

Keys To the Wolf Den: Jonny Flynn Is Kevin Garnett

Posted: 15th December 2009 by Matthew Hayden in NBA
No disrespect intended to any hardcore Kevin Garnett fans, but as a rookie, Jonny Flynn and Kevin Garnett are the same rookie for their respectable position. Kevin Garnett does everything to insult you and tears you limb for limb with his facial expression and physical vulgarity. Jonny Flynn is a point guard that can make ONE direct comparison to Magic Johnson, in that he smiles to insult you. Kevin Garnett led the Minnesota ...

Keys To The Wolf Den: Role Players or Starters?

Posted: 11th December 2009 by Matthew Hayden in NBA
In many of my articles, I've used this exact description's below to describe the many caliber's of players in the NBA. Megastars: Extremely rare in the NBA game.  One of a kind, a man among boys.  A player completely above the competition, a player that prides themselves in being the absolute best in any way, shape or form.  A record breaker, a face of the NBA, and the complete player.  ...

Keys To the Wolf Den: Growth and Inexperience from Minnesoa T-Wolves

"Hard work beats talent, when talent doesn't work hard." -Kevin Durant "I can't be as good as I am unless I help the team." -Kevin Garnett A side note: I've decided to do most of my articles on Bleacher report starting with "Keys to the Wolf Den," so that fans will know it's my writing. The Timberwolves have impressed despite dropping three of their last five games, all closely contested, and in which ...

Keys To the Wolf Den: Kevin Love, Defense, and the Triangle

Posted: 6th December 2009 by Matthew Hayden in NBA
Over the last four games, the Wolves have scored at a respectable 50 percent from the field, resulting in winning two games out of four. Fifteen losses in a row according to ESPN put the Wolves on a "worst team of all time" delicacy...cough, cough. Yet how do they retaliate to defeat the Denver Nuggets ending a 17 game winning streak for the Nuggets at the Pepsi Center, challenge the Memphis ...

All The Wolves Needed Was Some Love

Posted: 5th December 2009 by Matthew Hayden in NBA
The Minnesota Timberwolves have been on a role, despite what the wins and losses might reflect. Although the third quarters have stunned the Wolves in numerous ways, it seems the Wolves are making a breakthrough over the last four games. After defeating the Denver Nuggets and ending their 17-game winning streak at the Pepsi Center, the Timberwolves have finally figured out that they can compete with any team. A couple of the biggest ...

Malik Sealy, R.I.P

Posted: 4th December 2009 by Matthew Hayden in NBA
A passionate Wolf, with true hunger and determination. One of KG's right hand men, Malik Sealy went out a Timberwolf. Over the course of Sealy's NBA career, Sealy averaged 10 points in 23 minutes. His final season highlight consisted of making a game winning reverse putback shot at the buzzer over the Orlando Magic on December 29 of 1999. This gave the Wolves a 107-105 road win. Another notable moment was a game-winning ...
