Oakland: Where the Three Highest-Paid Guys at Their Position Get You a 5-11 Mark

Nnamdi Asomugha, three years, $45.3 million.
Shane Lechler, four years, $16 million.
Now, Sebastian Janikowski, four years, $16 million.
Three guys who are the highest paid players at their position, and they are deserving of it, but where has that gotten us? Seven straight losing seasons.
Was it a good move to sign those three guys, though? Yes, because without them, the Raiders would be a whole lot worse, if you could imagine that.

This Off season the Raiders need to solidify some positions on both sides of the ball. Those include DT, DE, OT, OG, WR and even QB, but those don't need to come from free agency but from trades as well. For first off, I don't expect to see Kenny Thomas, Andres Nocioni, Sean May, Hilton Armstrong, Ime Udoka, and Sergio Rodriguez on the team after the end of next season.
As for Kevin Martin, Jason Thompson and Spencer Hawes, one or even two of these guys might be traded before the Feb. 18 deadline, but I doubt a trade will actually be finalized.
