Allen Iverson may have found the answer he's been looking for, and it's better than he could have expected. Hours after the Memphis Grizzlies terminated Iverson's contract, Orlando Magic point guard Jameer Nelson suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee. Nelson is not expected to return for at least a month. The backup point guards for the Magic are not exactly spring chickens, nor are they truly solid options. Jason Williams ...

So much for the Orlando Magic playing with a full squad. The "healthy" Magic lasted only one game before the injury bug struck again. Rashard Lewis returned to the Orlando lineup Monday night, after a 10-game suspension. Lewis' return was the first time the Magic starting five was intact since the NBA Finals last season. Ryan Anderson, who was filling in for Lewis, also returned against the Bobcats. He had missed the ...

This week's column is a little late, I know. The Magic faced the Charlotte Bobcats to start this week and I forgot to preview it. Luckily for readers, the two teams matched-up last week and i gave the preview. This game, however, featured two major differences. First, for the Orlando Magic, was the return of Rashard Lewis from his 10 game suspension. Lewis tested positive for a banned substance in the ...

Orlando knew they had a tough task on Wednesday night as the Cleveland Cavaliers came to town. In a rematch of last season's Eastern Conference Finals, the tables turned and the Cavs eased into a 102-93 victory. The Magic have been struggling of late, mostly due to injuries and suspension. PF Rashard Lewis is finishing up his 10 game suspension and will return next week. Ryan Anderson, who has filled in ...

This Week in Magic (Week Three): Orlando Drops Two on the Road

So much for a perfect 82-0 season for the Magic. Orlando was stunned by the Detroit Pistons and the Oklahoma City Thunder this week. Though both games were on the road, these losses were unexpected and raises questions about the state of the team. Missing players for the Magic factors heavily in the defeats. Vince Carter has already missed three games in this young season and Rashard Lewis is finishing up ...

Many great NBA players have worn the Orlando Magic jersey. Shaquille O'Neal got his start in Orlando and has gone on to win four NBA Championships and an MVP trophy. Shaq is regarded as one of the greatest players of all-time. Tracy McGrady went from a nobody with the Toronto Raptors to the NBA's Most Improved Player with the Magic. McGrady won the scoring title twice in Orlando. Dwight Howard currently stars ...

Dwight Howard Calls Orlando Magic Loss “A Really Frustrating Night”

Posted: 5th November 2009 by Chad Waylon Pouncy in NBA
Dwight Howard was a preseason favorite for Most Valuable Player in the league. Tuesday night, in Detroit, Howard looked like the most vulnerable player on the court. Dwight lasted all of 17 minutes before fouling out of the game against the Pistons. He walked off the court with the most unimpressive line he is likely to put up all year. Eight points, five rebounds, no assists, no steals, and six fouls; ...

The first week of the NBA season is in the books and Orlando has looked like the beast we thought they would be. After three games, two of them on the road, the Magic are undefeated. Kicking off the season at home, Orlando was able to hoist up the Eastern Conference Championship banner at Amway Arena. A few things, however, caught fans by surprise. In the opener against the Sixers, a ...

Can Vince Carter Bring Back His Amazing Other Half for the Orlando Magic?

Vince Carter is one of the most puzzling figures in the NBA.á In so many ways, the nickname "Half-Man/Half-Amazing" suits him. After three years at UNC, Carter burst onto the scene with the Toronto Raptors in 1998. VC was named Rookie of the Year for the 1998-99 season. Carter was chosen to help Team USA to gold in the 2000 Summer Olympics. Vince is an eight time all-star and was twice named ...

This Week in Magic: Week One Tip Off in Orlando

Opening week is upon us and I must admit, I am psyched. This season is full of promise for the Orlando Magic. This final week of October is unique in the sports realm in that all four major sporting leagues are currently active. The World Series gets under way on Wednesday as the Yankees face the Phillies to close out the MLB season. The NFL ...
