Michigan Football Recruiting Blitz: The 2010 Class

Posted: 18th December 2009 by Big House Bob in NFL, NHL
In the past two years, this time of year Michigan has been hitting the recruiting trail to find new prospects to fill up the class. This year it's a little different. Michigan has 23 committed players for the 2010 class and one player from the 2009 that will enroll next month. Speaking of enrolling early, Michigan may have up to eight players enrolled after the holiday. Those eight include: Deerfield Beach, ...
I'm sure many Michigan Football fans are wondering these days how the Wolverines can be better in 2010. We are pretty sure the offense is on the right track (the loss of Vincent Smith with an ACL doesn't help) but there continues to be concern for the lack of depth at linebacker and in the defensive backfield. Then I had a thought: What if Northeastern or Hofstra had some real ...

Michigan Monday: Transfers, Recruiting and No Bowl Game

Posted: 7th December 2009 by Big House Bob in NFL
In a day where Michigan doesn't hear it's name mentioned for a Bowl Game, they get even more bad news regarding a transfer and yes, it's on defense. Brandon Smith has received his transfer paperwork. A highly rated guy in the hybrid class of 2008 (between Carr and Rodriguez) will look to suit up for another team in 2010 or 2011. This isn't the greatest news for of ...

Michigan Football Friday: NFL is Calling?

Posted: 4th December 2009 by Big House Bob in NFL
Donovan Warren Michigan's best CB is considering leaving early for the NFL draft. The true junior had four interceptions this year and opposing QB's would routinely throw the ball away from the talent junior. He has filed paperwork with the NFL to see where he might be drafted. At the annual Michigan Football Bust last night he had this to say: "I'm definitely, I'd have to say ...

Some: Donavan Warren has said he is coming back for his senior year . He will ask the NFL for his status, but he announced he would be back. Buckeye Monday = Death

Buckeyes Win in the Big House I think Big House Bob summed it up very well in his game summary post yesterday, ôsometimes freshman play like seniors and sometimes they play like high school seniors.ö I wasnÆt really worried about the outcome of the game (especially after ForcierÆs fumble in the end zone) but I didnÆt mind all the interceptions late in the game. Coach TresselÆs play calling was ...

That State of Football in Michigan

Posted: 2nd November 2009 by Big House Bob in NFL
Michigan is a proud hard working State that loves it's football. You are either Maize and Blue, or Green and White, and still root for the Lions on Sunday. A home weekend could see 100,000-plus in Ann Arbor, 60,000-plus in East Lansing, and another 60,000 at Ford Field on Sunday. But just like the economy and the auto industry, the football in the Great Lakes State has taken a ...

Michigan Football Recruiting Blitz

It's been pretty quiet on the recruiting front lately; so I thought I would give everyone a quick update. As of today, Michigan has 19 verbal commitments for the 2010 class and one for the 2011 class. There remains some open questions (who won't be asked back for a fifth year, injuries, juniors in the NFL draft, etc) about how many kids Michigan can take in 2010 but a full ...

Michigan Monday: Got Molk?

Posted: 19th October 2009 by Big House Bob in NFL
Rich Rodriguez today said that Center David Molk would return to practice this week and might play this weekend against Penn State (3:30 ABC): "How he feels after each and every practice will determine, really, what role he can take, whether he can be starting, whether he can play the whole time, in and out, just what he can tolerate," Wolverines head coach Rich Rodriguez said. "Medically, everything has been ...
