When Donovan McNabb went down with an injury in Week 1, Philadelphia Eagles fans were killed. With big free agent signing Michael Vick not available until Week 3, the Eagles are stuck with the unproven Kevin Kolb, and the aging veteran Jeff Garcia. Kolb is in his fourth season, and has played in eight career games. Kolb's career passer rating is 25.0, and has 24 career completions Garcia played for the Eagles ...

The 1994 MLB Players Association strike hurt everyone. Tony Gwynn of the San Diego Padres was on pace to hit .400, and would've been the first player to do so since Ted Williams hit .406 in 1941. Matt Williams of the San Francisco Giants was on pace to break Roger Maris's record of 61 home runs in a single season. And the Montreal Expos were the best team in baseball. No, I'm not lying to ...

According to a recent article on MLBTradeRumors.com (seen here), the Red Sox had offered six of their best young pitchers (Justin Masterson, Felix Doubront, Nick Hagadone, Clay Buchholz, Daniel Bard, and Michael Bowden) to the Toronto Blue Jays for their ace, Roy Halladay, before the trade deadline of July 31. This deal seems incredibly un-Theo Epstein-like. Since arriving in Boston in 2003, Epstein has repeatedly preached prospect development. Several of the products ...

For 13 years, the American League has dominated its National League counterparts, including 13 straight All-Star game victories and 9 of the last 13 World Series rings. Arguably, the 21st century's most dominant team is the Boston Red Sox, as the only team to win multiple World Series trophies in this young century. During the 2008-2009 offseason, the Red Sox signed four "high-risk, high-reward" free agents: John Smoltz, who had been an ...
