New York Mets Recent Resurgence Still Not Enough
Posted: 21st June 2010 by Sports Radio NY AM1240-WGBB in MLB
Despite losing their last two consecutive games against the New York Yankees, the New York Mets have showed improvement.
Going 8-2 in the last 10 games they’ve played, the Mets are currently 39-30 and second in the NL East, trailing the Atlanta Braves by 2.5 games.
Since calling R.A. Dickey and Hisanori Takahashi from the minor leagues, the Mets have found success. Dickey is 5-0 on the season with a 2.82 ERA ...
Why Do the Houston Texans Have a Sudden Change in Their Attitude?
Posted: 21st June 2010 by Shane Kirkpatrick in NFL
For the first seven years that the Houston Texans organization was in existence it strived and even took pride in having a locker room made up of role models.
A locker room that never publically complained no matter how many interceptions the quarterback threw.
The locker room that was void of any scandals on or off the field, and to be perfectly honest that is something to ...
NBA Draft 2010: After Trade, What Is Portland Trailblazer’s Draft Strategy?
Posted: 21st June 2010 by AJ Brady in NBA
There has been speculation that the Blazers will be active in the draft this year, considering GM Kevin Pritchard's willingness to do whatever trading it takes to get who he wants.
Today, he began the moves by trading the 44th pick and cash to the Warriors for the 34th pick. Question is, will they use that pick to move up? Do they want to take someone with it?
Although the Blazers are ...
When former BYU athletes look to take their performance to the next level, many are turning to Dave Stroshine of ASAP Training in Orem.

SF Giants & Madison Bumgarner: Another Reason to Complain About The GM
Posted: 21st June 2010 by Andy Bensch in MLB
In the world of sports, there are no absolutes. Especially in baseball, absolutes simply don't exist.
Home runs are ruled as ground rule doubles, perfect games are ruined by wrong calls, and strikes are called balls.
Leave the absolutes to the sciences (and vodka, I guess?).
But with baseball? Everything is open for evaluation and change.
Unfortunately, the San Francisco Giants have a personnel team that believes in absolute untouchables.
Or at least they will ...

Antti Niemi Will Be Back For Chicago Blackhawks’ 2010 Opener
Posted: 21st June 2010 by Kyle Wahlgren in NHL
The 26-year-old, Finnish net-minder, will be pressed for decisions within the next few days. With the NHL draft this weekend in Los Angeles, CA, that means the free agency period is right around the corner.
As a restricted free agent, the Blackhawks will have the opportunity to match any offer. Notice how I say opportunity and not ability?
It seems like continuous déjà vu when discussing the Blackhawks’ off-season. ...
Adam Jones Resurgence Encouraging, Yet Still Unfruitful
Posted: 21st June 2010 by Michael Waters in MLB
The list of struggling Orioles in 2010 is nearly as lengthy as their 25-man roster, but few are more noticeable than Adam Jones, the club’s starting center fielder and one of the faces of the franchise.
Jones is a key cog in the Oriole’s rebuilding process and after winning his first Gold Glove and appearing in his first All-Star game in 2009, he appeared to be on the path to stardom.
However, ...
Examining the Chris Johnson Holdout, and Who’s Side to Take
Posted: 21st June 2010 by Chad Minton in NFL
If the Chris Johnson holdout wasn't national news then it certainly is now. An exclusive interview by ESPN with Johnson outlined his frustration with the Titans over his current contract that currently only calls for him to make $550,000 next season.
Johnson told ESPN that, "I wanna be one of the highest paid offensive players in the league."
Johnson did come this close to setting the single-season rushing record last season, but ...
