Though there are many rookies (drafted and yet to be drafted) to choose from, these select three have caught my eye.
Taylor Hall (Drafted by either Edmonton or Boston—likely Edmonton)
While Hall has not yet been drafted, word is that he has already met with Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini, and will be drafted first overall in the upcoming draft.
I know what fans are thinking: The Oilers do not feature many good ...
The Top Shelf: Top Scorers in the NHL Conference Finals
Posted: 20th May 2010 by Matt Sitkoff in NHL
The NHL Conference Finals in both the East and West head to hockey weekend with two teams with a 2-0 lead.
Out west the Blackhawks should change their name to the Chicago Road Warriors, as they swept both games in San Jose and tied a playoff record with seven consecutive road games.
In the East, the Canadiens failed to score in Philadelphia as Michel Leighton became the first Flyers goalie to record ...

Kobe Bryant’s Response To the Phoenix Suns’ Idle Chatter? He’d Rather Pass
Posted: 20th May 2010 by Hadarii Jones in NBA
Phoenix Suns' forward Jared Dudley said he would view the video from the Suns' Game One loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, and see if Lamar Odom and Ron Artest could repeat their performances.
Amare Stoudemire said Odom's Game One performance was "lucky," and went a step further to say Pau Gasol was someone he dominated until Gasol was traded to Los Angeles, and teamed with Andrew Bynum.
I'm sure Kobe Bryant ...
Will NBA Teams Be Smart and Not Overpay for Amar’e Stoudemire?
Posted: 20th May 2010 by Steven Resnick in NBA
The 2010 NBA free agency crop has been talked about for a long while now. One of the biggest names of the group besides LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Joe Johnson is Amare Stoudemire, and the team that signs Stoudemire will overpay.
For a player who possesses tremendous athleticism his lack of rebounding and lack of defensive ability is disconcerting. Another issue with Stoudemire is the fact that he's limited offensively.
It's ...
Los Angeles Lakers: How Six More Wins Can Cement Kobe Bryant’s Legacy
Posted: 20th May 2010 by Tyler Conway in NBA
Kobe Bryant is the single most polarizing NBA player of this generation.
He is both globally loved and loathed. Laker fans jump to his defense when they hear any disparaging word, while his detractors relish in every single one of his failures.
Bryant is either a fierce warrior who drives his team to victory or a selfish dictator who saps the confidence from his teammates. It just depends who you ask.
He is ...

Beginning the 2010-11 season, the Oklahoma City Barons will be the Edmonton Oilers new AHL affiliate. The team will play out of the 13,399 seat Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City. The team's offical website is at http://okcbarons.com/ .

Pau Gasol Delivering Spectacular Postseason Quietly, Efficiently
Posted: 20th May 2010 by Jeff Newton in NBA
Pau Gasol isn't a treat for the eyes.
Even on the court, there's something strikingly off in the way Gasol trots out of rhythm from one end of the floor to the other. When he's running in transition, you'd swear the Spaniard was fighting through two ankle weights planted inside each sneaker.
Pau lacks the forceful personality and handsome features that made Magic Johnson such an icon in Los Angeles. What Johnson didn't have, though, was Gasol's wonderful post ...
How the Orlando Magic Can Come Back and Win Eastern Conference Title
Posted: 20th May 2010 by Adam Davis in NBA
Despite being down 2-0 to Boston in their Eastern Conference Final series, the Orlando Magic are still very much alive. Game two was a close one and a solid improvement from the poor play of game one. One thing is for sure, the Magic aren't going to go down without a fight. They have the skill, they have the determination, and they have the depth to pull off ...
2010 NBA Playoffs: Why the Kobe Bryant-Pau Gasol Duo Is Superior to Shaq-Kobe
Posted: 20th May 2010 by Josh Hoffman in NBA
Last week I posted a Facebook status that read: "As good as the Shaq-Kobe duo was, Kobe-Pau is better."
Within minutes I received a barrage of critical comments, including:
"That's just outrageously false."
"You're an idiot."
"[That is] almost as retarded of a statement as 'the Suns have a chance against the Lakers'."
And my personal favorite: "You are worse than the 'Fisher' 'Lies' girls."
With those sort of responses, you would think I said something ...
