Edinson Volquez of Cincinnati Reds Suspended for 50 Games

Posted: 21st April 2010 by Adam Bernacchio in MLB

Last year it was Los Angeles Dodgers slugger Manny Ramirez who was suspended for 50 games, and yesterday it was Cincinnati Reds pitcher Edinson Volquez who was suspended.   Obviously Volquez’s suspension isn’t as big of news as Manny being suspended, but it’s still pretty significant nonetheless. Here is the statement that was released by Volquez’s ...

Posted: 21st April 2010 by steve paul in NFL
Ah, the time has come.  You can feel it in the air.  Christmas is here!  No we are not in the wintery-weather month of December.  Yes we are in the damp, spring month of April.  But it is indeed Christmas.  Why you may ask?  Because tomorrow is the NFL Draft. This is my favorite time of year, and I'm sure many other men with no lives like me will tend to ...

The result: the Canucks are looking up at a 2-1 series deficit with a ...

Eagles’ Draft Plan Must Focus on Quality, Not Quantity

Posted: 21st April 2010 by Bob Cunningham in NFL
Too often, teams are concerned with getting many good players in the draft, rather than three or four starters who can develop into great players. This leads to a team full of backups and rotation players—as we've seen over the past few seasons with the Eagles. This year, however, they must be more focused on finding starters and future stars. They are betting their 2010 season on the rookies ...
Mike Pelfrey dazzled the Cubs Tuesday night, allowing no runs on three hits and three walks in seven innings. He also struck out six en route to his third win in as many starts. The 26-year-old now has a 0.86 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with a 16:8 K:BB ratio through 21 innings. The question all fantasy managers are asking now is: How good is Mike Pelfrey ? Based on his previous two ...
