Please tell me this is April Fools Day.
Look, the Cubs have done a lot of dumb things in their history, but moving Carlos Zambrano to the bullpen may be the craziest thing they have done since the "College of Coaches."
For those of you not up to date on Cubs history, the College of Coaches was the brainchild (or brain-dead decision) of then-owner P.K. Wrigley back in 1961, and consisted of ...
Is Moving Carlos Zambrano to the Bullpen Good for the Chicago Cubs?

Listed below are points and counterpoints debating whether the Cubs demoting Carlos Zambrano is a good idea.
Point: Yes, all you have to do is watch him pitch and realize that you can't give Carlos 200 innings pitched this year. Counterpoint: No, Zambrano is making a cool $17.875 million and should be starting. P: Lou Piniella is on record saying that this isn't a "panic move," but it seems ...
Cashman Gives Nady WS Ring Before Game in Flushing
Posted: 21st April 2010 by Bronx Baseball Daily in MLB
Earlier in the day I wrote about former Yankee pitchers Edwar Ramirez and Chad Gaudin getting their rings yesterday and I wrote that the Yankees really haven’t let everyone know when they’ll be getting their rings.
I certainly wasn’t foreshadowing anything, but earlier today Xavier Nady got a nice surprise when the Yankees general manager Brian Cashman showed up at Citi Field before the Cubs, Nady’s current team, ...
One of the best Clint Eastwood movies from his Western days was "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly." Fantastic. Rent it if you have not seen it. In fact, get a bunch of Clint movies one rainy day and park yourself on the couch.
This movie title is going to be the same as this Yankee theme. It will be a bi-weekly segment on the most recent Yankee two week ...

According to a press release by the University of Wisconsin Badgers, Rangers defensive prospect, Ryan McDonagh , who served as on of three tri-captains this season, will return to the Badgers next year as the team’s sole captain.

Rumors Swirl of Mark Teixeira Testing Positive for PED
Posted: 21st April 2010 by Christopher Chavez in MLB
Yesterday there were rumors flying that Mark Teixeira could be the next big name baseball player to be suspended due to performance enhancing drugs. Major League Baseball then made the announcement that it was not Teixeira, but Edinson Volquez of the Reds, that failed a drug test.
A sigh of relief was taken by the New York Yankees organization and fans.
Teixeira laughed off the rumors when he was informed in Oakland yesterday ...
During my last article, with regard to the San Jose Sharks post-season, I referenced the famous Glengarry Glen Ross line, "Coffee's for closers only."
As we all know, another name for coffee is "Joe," and it often comes in jumbo sizes in a country that is always looking for artificial stimulation. As we all know, Jumbo Joe is the nickname for the Western Conference's best regular season centre, playing for the ...
According to Damian Cristodero of the St. Petersburg Times , the Tampa Bay Lightning are considering hiring Rangers’ scout Doug Risebrough as their general manager and the feeling seems to be mutual.
“Yes,” Doug Risebrough said, “I’m very interested.”
Larry Brooks, of the NY Post, first reported on March 1 that the Lightning were interested in signing Risebrough, but with the season still going on nothing really happened at the time. Well ...
Carlos Zambrano Moves to Bullpen to Make Way For Henry Rowengartner
Posted: 21st April 2010 by Christopher Murphy in MLB
In a surprise twist in the never-ending saga of Carlos Zambrano, the Cubs management has decided to send the eight-year veteran starter to the bullpen to make way for the 12-year-old Henry Rowengartner, who just came off the disabled list with a broken arm.
Rowengartner, or Rosenbagger/Gardenhoser as he likes to be called, played some outfield for the Pirates of the Little League, but has confidence he can make the switch ...
Back during the Olympics, Jaromir Jagr made it known that now that his two-year contract in the Czech League is almost up he’s entertaining the idea of coming back to the NHL.
Could a return to the Rangers be a possibility? Probably not, at least I should hope not, but Glen Sather likes him and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that I haven’t agreed with all of the moves ...
