Posted: 24th April 2010 by Dan Dubrow in NFL
Alright NFC East Fans, the first round slide was a success so I decided to recap the Beast for day two as well.
A ton of trading occurred on the second day of the NFL draft, some inside the division some not.
We are through three full rounds with four, five, six, and seven on deck tomorrow evening and there are still a good amount of players who could contribute in ...

Posted: 24th April 2010 by Jessica Dawkins in NFL
Friday evening, UCF DL Torell Troup was picked 41st overall in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills.
"It feels really good to be a member of the Bills," Troup said following the decision.
The drafting of Troup comes as the second highest UCF draft ever, with Daunte Culpepper being the only Knight drafted higher (11th overall).
Many Knights fans think Troup has been overlooked as a member of ...
Eagles Draft Nate Allen, Daniel T’eo-Nesheim, and Stockpile Draft Picks
Posted: 24th April 2010 by Leo Pizzini in NFL
Day two of the NFL draft began like most imagined. With the 37th overall selection, the Eagles addressed the secondary with an excellent free safety prospect in Nate Allen from South Florida.
This was a great pick and it needed to be. Everything was right for the Eagles to take Allen here and this of course was the Donovan McNabb pick.
Allen is both a ball-hawk and solid in run support. He ...
Sorry New Orleans, but the City of Seattle Really Wants Your Basketball Team
Posted: 23rd April 2010 by Kevin Nesgoda in NBA
Last night in Oklahoma City some salt was once again poured into the festering wound of Seattle basketball fans.
Because of the ineptitude of local officials in the city of Seattle and the inaction of state government in Washington state, the state of Oklahoma celebrated their first professional playoff victory last night over the Los Angeles Lakers.
I could be the typical bitter Seattle basketball fan and rag on the state of ...
Miami Dolphins Grab LB Koa Misi, OG John Jerry On Draft’s Second Day
Posted: 23rd April 2010 by Chris J. Nelson in NFL
Unlike the first day of the draft when the Miami Dolphins chose a player (Jared Odrick) at possibly their deepest position (defensive end), the team spent their two second-day picks addressing some of their biggest needs. With the 40th overall pick, acquired from San Diego in a day-one trade, the Dolphins selected Utah defensive end Koa Misi , who will play outside linebacker in ...
Wake up Call: Detroit Red Wings Take Command of Series with Game Five Win
Posted: 23rd April 2010 by Thomas Knapp in NHL
I'll admit, I was a bit nervous about this game.
While the Detroit Red Wings certainly had some momentum on their side after a very a strong Game Four performance, I wasn't sure that they'd maintain that intensity and high level play.
As it turned out, I had nothing to worry about.
For the second straight game, the Detroit Red Wings controlled their counterparts from Phoenix, taking a 4-1 win and a 3-2 ...
5 Hot Fantasy Baseball Free Agents With Play Or Trade Value
Posted: 23rd April 2010 by Peter Douglas in MLB
Always afraid to release your drafted stars whose weak performances are killing your fantasy squad, you risk missing out on some early-season hot up-and-comers that could make or break your team.
Remember this: in fantasy, you need to play it week by week, and you need to take advantage of the fact that your players aren’t “real.”
In the real world players demand and possess no-trade clauses, so Theo Epstein and Brian ...
Cincinnati Reds: Another Take on the Joe Morgan Hiring
Posted: 23rd April 2010 by Illya Harrell in MLB
Cincinnati, whether deserved or undeserved, has long held a reputation of racist city.
And no, that's not a photo of Joe Morgan giving a "black power" fist. He's waving.
But the photo looked silly after trying to crop it down and get the wave into the shot.
Having never lived in Cincinnati, it's tough to properly judge.
Just a hunch, but most whites would probably deny it, blacks would agree that the city ...

Posted: 23rd April 2010 by Dan Dubrow in NFL
The Philadelphia Eagles had a very busy day today, doing a ton of shuffling around on the draft board and continuing their theme from the first round.
With the 37th overall selection, the Philadelphia Eagles did draft safety Nate Allen out of South Florida. Allen is expected to be an immediate starter at free safety for the Eagles who are still trying to fill Brian Dawkins' void.
Allen has some work to ...
