QB Coincidence? Both Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson Still Locked in QB Battles
Posted: 19th March 2010 by Daniel Wolf in NFL
For the past two seasons with the Cleveland Browns both quarterbacks Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson have been in a non-stop quarterback competition that has seen both of them get more than enough chances to outplay the other.
Now, after parting ways and saying goodbye to the Browns, both of these two quarterbacks are still going to be competing for a starting job, but on separate teams.
There is a bit ...
Reports from the Boston Globe and Boston Herald say the Patriots have found their new tight end. That guy is four-time Pro Bowler Alge Crumpler.
The 32-year-old tight end gives the Patriots some much needed experience and depth at the tight end position after letting Benjamin Watson go to the Cleveland Browns and releasing his backup Chris Baker.
In his earlier years with the Atlanta Falcons, Crumpler was regarded as a top ...

Is Yonder Alonso Ready for the Cincinnati Reds, or a Year Away?
Posted: 19th March 2010 by Cliff Eastham in MLB
I know the few weeks in spring training is insufficient time to make a detailed performance rating, but if not now, when? Yonder Alonso is not striking fear in the Reds opponents, or his competitors at his prospective position(s). Through games of Thursday night, Alonso is batting .125/.125/.188. That is well below any Mendoza line that has ever been drawn. He has scored one run with no RBI ...
The Chicago Bulls Are Making It Really Easy To Fire Vinny Del Negro
Posted: 19th March 2010 by Christopher Murphy in NBA
Let's face it. The Bulls organization is looking for a reason to fire Vinny Del Negro and they are certainly going to have "fair" reasoning when this season comes to a close.
But how fair is it?
The Bulls were ready to fire Del Negro around Christmas time this season before he really even had the chance to become fireable. The team was 16-18 and Derrick Rose was still not completely healthy.

Cleveland Cavaliers 40th Anniversary: A Uniform Retrospective
Posted: 19th March 2010 by Tom Delamater in NBA
There was once a time in America when professional sports teams rarely, if ever, changed the look of their uniforms.
It wasn't just the Yankees, Celtics, Packers or Bruins who kept the same look year after year, decade after decade. Most teams did.
That began to change in the 1960s, and then the practice became common during the '70s and beyond.
So it has been for the Cleveland Cavaliers. As they celebrate ...

Just to make things clear, I am not talking about the mediocre lefty for the Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox who all of a sudden became unhittable in the postseason for the New York Yankees.
I am talking about the big outfield prospect for the Florida Marlins.
If you are not familiar with the Marlins’ version of Mike Stanton, then you will be very shortly. He is a big man who ...

The St. Louis Cardinals are having internal discussions about trading pitcher Rich Hill to the Philadelphia Phillies for Roy Halladay, according to sportswriter extraordinaire, Evan Bruschini .
High-ranking members of the Cardinals’ front office told Bruschini that the team is putting together an offer centering around lefty Hill and right-handed Halladay, but are first making sure that such a deal would truly improve the team.
“Wait a minute,” Brushini’s source said, “This ...

Posted: 19th March 2010 by Adam Bernacchio in MLB
I never really thought Mark Reynolds strikeouts were an issue and apparently the Arizona Diamondbacks don’t think so either. Yesterday, the Diamondbacks officially signed the slugging third baseman to a new deal.
The Diamondbacks signed Reynolds to a three-year contract worth $14.5 million. The deal also includes an $11 million club option for 2013. Here is the breakdown of the contract:
2010: $500,000
2011: $5 million
2012: $7.5 million
