Should the National Football League Use a Farm System?
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Jason Clary in NFL
A NFL roster usually consists of 53 players.
Backups tend to be more of use on special teams, while other backups wait on the bench with an uncertainty of whether they will ever get a snap in a meaningful NFL game.
These players are employed, but aren't doing much. These players include back—up quarterbacks, fourth—string running backs and members of the practice squad.
Here is a question that probably hasn't been asked much: ...
Why the Trail Blazers Need To Trade On The Off Season To Be Successful
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Josh guerrero in NBA
The Portland Trailblazers have been struggling from injuries. They are not at their potential and they are really talented and should win a championship within the next five years.
They need a PG that can shoot and definitely need a center to grab rebounds because Marcus Camby won't be here forever and Joel is getting old.
Greg can't stay on the court and Martell is streaking and we need to ...
The 10 Biggest Personalities in A’s History from Philadelphia to Oakland
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Robert Slye Jr. in MLB
In this article, like the Top 10 Pitchers article is a project given to me by Bleacherreport.com, I guarantee will forget some major personalities since I've been alive for roughly 1/4 of the franchise's history. I'm going to take a crack at it anyway. If I see I've forgotten significant enough people I WILL revise. That's half the fun in this assignment is that I get to learn about the ...
Oakland Raiders’ Fabulous Females Do More Than Jumps, Splits and Dances
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Damali Binta Yael in NFL
So many folks write about the Oakland Raiders. How many have written about the Raiderettes?
Here is an article for you to peruse. It all started when I saw a video about the Raidettes who visited our military overseas.
I know the Raiderettes are agile and rhythmic enough to jump, do splits, and dance the night away. They do more than dance and smile.
They actually do community service and public relations type work as ...
Is Ben Roethlisberger the Most Overrated Quarterback in the NFL?
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Chad Lundberg in NFL
NFL experts are trying to place Ben Roethlisberger amongst the elite quarterbacks with the likes of Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.
Don't get me wrong, Roethlisberger is no doubt a decent quarterback, but can we honestly say that he ranks amongst the all—time greats?
Last season Ben Roethlesberger was sacked 50 times. What came as a shock to me though was that most expert analysts were giving him praise.
But yet, when Aaron ...
Golden State Warriors: Chris Cohan, Don’t Let the Door Hit You on the Way Out
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by George Schmilinsky in NBA
Rejoice, rejoice!
Chris Cohan has finally decided to sell the Golden State Warriors, which will relieve the Bay Area of one of the worst ownership reigns in not just its history, but possibly the history of all professional sports.
The recent announcement that the Warriors are employing Galatioto Sports Partners (or GSP) to help sell the franchise is welcoming news to most Warrior fans (and I’m being nice here).
Cohan officially took control ...
Very Superstitious: Three Superstitious Fixes for the Slumping Sharks
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Patrick Goulding II in NHL
Time to face the music.
The San Jose Sharks have been mediocre at best since well before the Olympic Break and downright dismal through most of 10 games since, leading to their worst skid since 1997.
Theories abound as to what their major malfunction seems to be, but the fact of the matter is, answers remain elusive.
Time for drastic measures!
Where neither practice, nor speeches, nor days off, nor rationalizing ...
Five NHL Teams That Waited Too Long to Start Winning
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Matthew Hogan in NHL
The NHL playoff picture is starting to come into focus.
The Washington Capitals are just a couple of wins from clinching the top spot in the East, but not every team is as lucky as the Caps.
The Edmonton Oilers have officially been eliminated from playoff contention and are looking to secure the number one pick in the upcoming 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
And then there are those teams on the outside of ...
What a Run: Recapping the Washington Capitals’ Incredible Second-Half Surge
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Jonathan Weiss in NHL
Lost in all the controversy around Alex Ovechkin’s recent suspension and the hoopla surrounding the Capitals 14—game winning streak before the Olympic break, is just how dominant the Caps have been during the second half of this season.
Yes, the Caps now sit atop the NHL league—wide standings and are the clear favorites to win the President’s Cup, but exactly how have they gotten there?
The Capitals 2—1 loss to the LA ...
Paul Pierce’s Resurgence Clear as Boston Celtics Top Dallas on the Road
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Ryan McDonnell in NBA
The Celtics pulled off yet another win on the road Saturday night against Dallas, and Paul Pierce continues to look more and more like the dominant and versatile player that Celtics fans have become accustomed to seeing over the last decade and change.
Pierce went into the game shooting 58 percent from the floor in the Celtics' previous five contests, and finished Saturday's game with 29 points, five assists, and two steals. With 1:45 to ...
