Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Nick Signorelli in NFL
With all of the issues that Ben Roethlisberger is going through, he has decided that he needs to upgrade his entourage. He has been instructed to do so by his lawyer, so he is taking his advice.
These positions are being filled at this time, even though there will be no need for these people until this Georgia case is completed.
I did a search on the Pittsburgh area craigslist, and these ...
Sharks Extend Skid: Five Reasons the Teal Faithful Should Remain Calm
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Jason Figueiredo-Dumpit in NHL
In times of uncertainty, it is not uncommon for people to panic and lose focus of the situation at hand.
The San Jose Sharks’ recent sky dive down the Western Conference standings has many worried that their eerily predictable downfall is starting a little early this season.
Since the return from the Olympic break, Todd McLellan’s squad has looked out of sync, worn-out, and lacked that certain “We are the better ...
One of the better things Glen Sather has done recently was moving Scott Gomez’s big salary, a problem he himself created, but he made up for that nice move with the boneheaded signing of Ales Kotalik. Then he managed to make up for that mistake by dealing Kotalik and Chris Higgins to Calgary for Olli Jokinen.
Despite Jokinen’s past success, the deal wasn’t meant, at least it wasn’t perceived by many, ...
When you have a rotten owner, a bad GM, and an ineffective coach, what does it all add up to? A bad team, of course.
That’s what the Rangers are right now, a bad team.
Wasn’t John Tortorella supposed to bring a tireless work ethic, accountability, and toughness to the team?
Well, that didn’t happen.
The players are either tuning him out or he’s not doing his job. There’s no urgency, no sense ...

Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Tommy Bertolino in NFL
Now that‘s what I call a woooo lick or even a de-cleater…Knowshon Moreno meet defensive back extraordinaire, Eric Berry.
Whoa, Whoa, Whoa …Did someone just use Eric Berry’s name in the same sentence as Ronnie Lott, the HOFer, 10 time pro bowler, four-time Super Bowl winner, and the 1980s all-decade safety who is paired with our very own Kenny Easley, the only defensive all decade player on that roster not in ...

Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Brian DiTullio in NFL
Cleveland Browns Team President Mike Holmgren is planning to draft a quarterback next month, and Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow would appear to be the leading candidates.
Appearances can be deceiving, but in this case, if a team wants a closer look, as they do with McCoy and Tebow, they don’t do it lightly.
Holmgren has been very candid about the Browns’ search for a new franchise quarterback, unusual for a front ...
New York Yankees: Morning Hits: Carl Crawford, Utility Infielders, and Feds
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Bronx Baseball Daily in MLB
In case you missed it, the biggest news of the morning is the Yankees decision to waive Chad Gaudin, thus eliminating him from the fifth starter competition and probably from the team altogether.
Here are some other news items of note:
Jon Heyman wrote a column on Carl Crawford and he had a quote that the Yankees “absolutely love Crawford” and we should expect him to be the team’s no. 1 ...

I’ve been invited to participate in Fantasy Trader’s fantasy football roundtable.
This week’s topic :
The fairly wide open topic of what you personally believe is the most often overlooked (or undervalued) strategy or concept for successfully managing a Dynasty fantasy team.

My response :
If you participate in a dynasty league, you likely take fantasy football, and football in general, very seriously. I’m not sure there’s ...
Ranking NFL Stars’ Most Egregious Off-the-field Incidents
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Dan Parzych in NFL
The NFL has seen a fair-share of their players make national headlines over the years for all of the wrong reasons. Some of the best athletes blessed with talent on the field, but sometimes find themselves involved with the wrong people or happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is currently under investigation after a 20-year-old filed sexual assault charges against ...
The Milwaukee Brewers needed to make a pitching splash in free agency over the winter. Once it was apparent that John Lackey wouldn't become a Brewer, GM Doug Melvin signed the next best option, Randy Wolf.
Wolf signed a three-year, $29.75 million deal with the Brewers on December 9.
There were two main thoughts by most after the signing: Wolf is a good pitcher, but the Brewers overpaid to get him.
Both statements ...
