Nobody wants to hear that their career is over. Ever. That goes right on the top of the list of things you never want said to you.
When you're a professional athlete, the pill is even more difficult to swallow. For the most part, the sport you play has been a part of your daily routine since childhood, through high school and college, and for your entire adult life. You don't ...
Chad Gaudin Waived by New York Yankees: Fifth Starter Battle Down to Four
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Double G Sports in MLB
One player appears to have been eliminated from the fifth starter battle for the New York Yankees.
The team placed Chad Gaudin on waivers today.
Gaudin was acquired by the Yankees via trade last season and made 11 appearances for them. He went 2-0 with a 3.43 ERA in those 11 games, which included six starts.
That performance was enough for the Yankees to sign him to a one-year, $2.95 million deal ...
As you all may know, Gilbert Arenas was charged for illegal gun possession, and has been suspended for the rest of the NBA season.
No team wants him, and he still has $80 million on his contract. The Wizards certainly don't want him.
The question is: What to do with Agent Zero, and what team would want him?
I, myself, am a diehard fan of Gilbert Arenas and the Wizards, but this guy ...
Detroit Tigers Rotation: Questions Remain as Questions are Answered
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Zac Snyder in MLB
The Detroit Tigers opened spring training with an unfinished starting rotation. As it gets closer to opening day, the settling rotation leaves me unsettled. No one questioned Justin Verlander, Rick Porcello, and Max Scherzer as the top three starting pitchers for the 2010 rotation. Jeremy Bonderman was a heavy favorite to land the No. 4 spot and Dontrelle Willis , Nate Robertson, and Armando Galarraga as the contenders for ...
So far this Spring Training, the San Francisco Giants have used six catchers. Two of them, Johnny Monell and Jackson Williams, did not have a shot at making the Major Leagues. Bengie Molina will be the No. 1 catcher, but the question is who will be his backup?
Buster Posey, Eli Whiteside, and Steve Holm have all been given a look so far, and each has had a taste in the ...
NBA Stock Report: The Last Eight Playoff Teams And Where They Stand
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Hadarii Jones in NBA
Intensity is the keyword for the teams looking to secure one of the final eight NBA playoff berths, and the presence or lack of intensity will likely determine their fate.
The upper-echelon teams in the NBA have little trouble finding the neccessary intensity because the opportunity to obtain home-court advantage in the first round is motivation enough.
But for the lower seeded teams intensity can be more difficult to sustain, because once ...
This is a look at the new and improved 2010 New York Mets. 2009 was a trying and difficult season for the Mets. Expected to enjoy a lot of success, their hopes were dashed by a plethora of strange and aggravating injuries. However, the Mets return in 2010, with a new attitude, new faces, and a commitment to avenging the frustrations of the past few seasons and hopefully bring a ...

New York Yankees: Future Begins Now For Joba Chamberlain, Phil Hughes
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Dan Hanzus in MLB
When Joe Girardi opened camp last month, he made it clear that the fifth-starter job would be a wide-open competition.
And so it was that Phil Hughes, a 23-year-old once deemed too promising to be dealt for Johan Santana and Joba Chamberlain, a 24-year-old once touted as the next Josh Beckett, ended up in a dogfight with the very ordinary likes of Sergio Mitre, Chad Gaudin, and Alfredo Aceves.
Or at least ...
Daunte Culpepper to The Buffalo Bills: “I Can Be The Guy”
Posted: 23rd March 2010 by Roger Gidlow in NFL
I woke up this morning and did the daily routine. Take a shower, eat some breakfast, and check ESPN for some Bills news...if there is any. Low and behold when I check the AFC East Blog there is an article stating that Culpepper wants to talk to the Bills.
Culpepper is currently down in Florida attending the annual owner's meetings. The only reason he is there is because he is in ...
